About the Author

Saira Rao was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. After graduating from the University of Virginia, she worked at WUSA TV in Washington DC and WSVN TV in Miami before heading off to law school. She received her JD from New York University School of Law in 2002, clerked on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia and worked as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. Today, Saira lives in New York City with her husband.
